One Shot in Nairobi MPESA Robbery

Police in Nairobi are investigating an incident in which one person was shot by armed robbers on Monday night.

Stephen Mwangi, a trader at Nyayo market in Ngara, is nursing bullet wounds after he was shot when he went to answer a distress call in a nearby M-PESA.

The victim recalls that he was at his workplace together with his brother when they heard screams from a nearby M-PESA shop at around 8 pm.

According to a police report seen by Opera News, they rushed there and found three men, one armed with a pistol robbing the shop.

Mwangi reportedly wrestled the robber with a pistol and in the process, he was shot on the right side of the abdomen.

Unfortunately, the gang managed to escape using a motorcycle whose registration number was not captured towards Ngara Girls direction.

The victim was rushed to Guru Nanak hospital where he was treated and left in stable condition.

On arrival to the scene, police confirmed that they robbed one Anastasia Munyiva Ksh 100,000 and a mobile phone.

Police recovered one spent cartridge from the crime scene.
