Ali Korane’s Advisor Resigns

Garissa Governor, Ali Korane Business development advisor Abdilatif Dahir, has resigned citing ‘frustration’ by his former boss.

Addressing the press at a Garissa hotel, Dahir accused Korane of overseeing impunity, adding that his advisory role was of no value to the county administration.

“I have resigned as business development adviser with effect from October 1st because it is evident that I can no longer work with you since we have disagreed severally on matters regarding the running of the county affairs,” Dahir resignation letter read in part.

“My conscience can no longer allow me to continue drawing a salary, while my inputs are not adding value to the growth of business in the county. I was pushed to the wall and the best way out of it is to tender my resignation,” he added.

Dahir alleged that one of Korane’s younger brothers who does not hold any position in the county had assumed his role and he was the only one the governor listens to.

“He even summons CECs just to show how powerful he is. He decides who gets what tender,” the outgoing adviser said.

He alleged that the county is riddled with corruption and nepotism that had compromised service delivery.

Efforts to reach the county secretary Abdi Sheikh for comment were fruitless.
