CAF Name Match Officials for Gor Mahia-USM Alger Tie

Gor Mahia vs Aigle Noir

Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the names of officials who will be in charge of the CAF Champions league battle between Kenyan club Gor Mahia and Algerian outfit USM Alger to be played on Sunday, September 29.

On the list, are Cameroonians Alioum Alioum, Elvis Guy Noupue Nguegoue, Rodrigue Menye Mpele and Antoine Max Depadoux Effa Essouma, plus a Tanzanian Khalid Abdallah Mohammed.

Alioum will be the Centre Referee assisted by Noupue Nguegoue (First Assistant Referee) and Menye Mpele (Second Assistant Referee). Effa Essouma will be the Fourth Official while Abdallah Mohammed will be the match commissioner.

The match will be played at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani Stadium as from 4 pm, and to Gor Mahia, it is a do-or-die affair following their 4-1 humiliation during their first leg meeting played away. K’Ogalo must win by at least 3-0 in order to avoid crashing out of the tournament.

Head coach Steven Polack had identified weaknesses from their Kenyan Premier League match against KCB on Sunday, September 22, and promised to make amends in time ahead of the continental duel.

“Everyone knows our next game, and how it is important to us. We have to improve on our performance especially going by this match’s second half (referring to the match against KCB). We can’t play this way on Sunday. We’re still going to improve on a few aspects of our game so as to hopefully get ready for the Sunday match,” he said.
