The leaders included Runyenjes Member of Parliament(MP) Cecily Mbarire, Mbeere North MP Muriuki Njagagua, Mbeere South MP Geoffrey King’ang’i among other leaders.
The leaders promised the DP their full support in his journey to statehouse saying he had the needs of Embu residents at heart.
“Thank you for our excellency for spending a whole weekend with us. We have never had a better friend than you our DP. It is you that we know,” said Mbarire.
The MPs also used the opportunity to scold Kieleweke members where they attacked Maina Kamanda for opposing the DP.
The leaders pledged their loyalty to the DP saying they won’t shift the region’s political allegiance.
The DP toured Embu County to launch and inspect development projects.
During the tour, Ruto opened Winans Sacco Plaza, Kiritiri, in Mbeere South.
He also launched the of construction works of the 18-km Siakago-Kiritiri Road, Mbeere South, Embu County.
He lauded the development projects saying it will enhance empowerment in the region.
“The Siakago-Kiritiri Road will open up the area for investment; ease transport of goods, particularly agricultural produce and people; promote the service industry; create employment and build the local economy,” said the DP.
The DP finally laid the foundation stone for construction of Mbeere North TTI, opened a computer lab and an administration block for Siakago and Kabachi secondary schools respectively.
He urged residents to take advantage of the facility and ensure their children acquire necessary skills that will enable them to earn a living.
“We require a big army of competent, skilled youth to lead our development agenda and act as change agents.
That is why we are constructing and equipping TTIs to enhance the technical know-how of the young people and utilise their energy and prowess to drive economic growth,” said Ruto.
