Ingwe who were yet to register a win in the league heading into the game were seen as underdogs but a second-half goal from new signing John Makwatta helped Mbungo’s charges pick  maximum points from the match.

Both teams created numerous chances but wasteful in both halves saw Leopards register a narrow win. The lone goal of the game was scored by Makwatta who converted from the spot after he was fouled by Bernard Ochieng.Image may contain: 2 people, people playing sports and outdoor

Speaking after the match, the Rwandese tactician said his team prepared well for the game and were rewarded with a precious win against the Kenyan Premier League big-spenders.

” I first want to thank God for enabling us pick this important win. The game was good, we had good plan and we executed it well. We played them (Wazito) during pre-season and I watched their opening two games of the season and we planned well and it worked to our advantage because we studied their weaknesses. The race is long and we have to keep working hard in each and every game,” he said.
