‘You won’t Steal Ruto’s Victory in 2022’- Manyora Warns Uhuru and Raila

Political analyst Herman Manyora has warned Nasa leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta against any plan that will seek to grab power from Deputy President William Ruto, just in case the latter emerges the winner beyond any doubt.

The University of Nairobi don took to his YoutTube channel on Saturday to give an analysis of the Kibra by-election where he made the allegations.

The claimed that both Uhuru and Raila had sacrificed the Kibra seat for their political goal come 2022 General Elections.

However, Manyora cautioned the two leaders against any political foul play against Ruto saying the DP  cannot be easily compromised.

“If Raila and Uhuru go to the ballot in 2022 elections they will have to beat Ruto convincingly. They must have a clear win against Ruto because Ruto is not Raila Odinga.

You will not take Ruto’s victory. You will not snatch it from him. For them to achieve their dream they have to crack the hard nut that is William Ruto,” said Manyora.

At the same time, the analyst alleged that the decision by Uhuru to endorse Mariga and Raila to support Imran was nothing short of political cards at play.

The lecturer claimed that the 2017 political nemesis-turned-allies had decided to let go of the Kibra seat in a well-choreographed plan that will see DP Ruto on the losing end.

“For Kenyatta and Odinga to win in 2022, friends and political careers will be sacrificed and enemies will be brought on board. Kibra is a taste of that sacrifice.

“It appears to me that Kibra is going to be one of those sacrifices and Raila will lose Kibra enthusiastically. His support for Imran Okoth in Kibra will be lukewarm,” argued the don.

On the other hand, Manyora claims that President Uhuru’s move to support Jubilee candidate, McDonald Mariga, was basically meant to make DP Ruto happy.

He claims hat the head of state is privy to the facts that Mariga is not a valid registered voter and also the controversy surrounding his age is an irregularity.

In that context, the political analyst believes the president’s decision was a huge sacrifice aimed at fooling the DP.

IEBC Chairman, Wafula Chebukati’s decision to have Mariga contest in Kibra despite Returning Officer declaring that Mariga was not a registered voter was contrary to the law.

You do not want to antagonise Ruto so much if something small can make him happy, why not?” explained Manyora.

However, its a matter of time whether the remarks by the analyst will be valid since President Uhuru and Raila have not declared any interest for a political seat.
