Kenyan Premier League side, Tusker FC has confirmed that US side, Golden State Force FC is interested in winger Boniface Muchiri who has been in scintillating form for the side since he joined from Sony Sugar in 2017.
The speedy winger has arguably been Tusker’s best player for the last two seasons and had attracted interest from several clubs including Gor Mahia and two unnamed Zambia clubs. US side, Golden State has now joined the fray and if all goes well the Kibabi Boys High School alumnus will soon ditch the Brewers.
Muchiri missed Tusker’s match against Mathare over the weekend sparking rumors that he had left the club but club chairman, Daniel Aduda has revealed that the player is still in the country. He also disclosed that the club had shown interest in the player in 2018.
“No Muchiri is still with us, he was injured and that’s why I think he missed the match against Mathare United. There’s a club that was interested in him last year but the letter they wrote us expired in November 201 and we cannot work with a letter that has expired,” he told Opera News.
According to him, they are waiting for official communication from the US club before they can make a decision.
“We have requested that they officially write to us what exactly they want. I cannot authoritatively say he is leaving because they have not made a request in writing. Once they do that, we will proceed from there and make a decision as to the management. Until then, Muchiri is a Tusker FC player,” he added.
Muchiri made his national team debut during a friendly match against Uganda earlier this month.
