Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has advised the Deputy President to stay calm and support the handshake since there are no permanent enemies or friends in politics.

Speaking on Citizen Tv’s  JKLive show on Wednesday evening, the outspoken legislator stated that handshake was the best thing that could have happened to Kenya hence should be supported by all regardless of their political affiliations.

Odhiambo observed that those leaders who felt left out in the March 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga should not be jittered adding that politics always change within time.

“Handshake is a beautiful thing. One lesson I have always learned in politics and especially from my Suba community is that some climb as others go down. In politics, there are no permanent friends or enemies. So u can’t say so and so have gotten into a permanent bedroom! There is no permanency here” stated Odhiambo.

The vocal MP added that the handshake does not mean that Jubilee or ODM dies nor one party is absorbed into the other rather strengthening and promoting good relationships.

“The handshake does not mean that ODM dies or Jubilee dies. We still have ODM, we still have Jubilee, it’s just that the rule of the game changed”

On the oncoming Kibra constituency by-election, Mabona expressed confidence that ODM candidate was going to triumph over the rest.

While welcoming Jubilee and other parties into the race, Millie observed that their presence will serve to strengthen ODM party and that all the shots that will be called will be friendly.

Mabona noted that it was indeed the Kalenjin community through URP which was trying to assert its authority in Nairobi politics especially after winning Lang’ata constituency.

She stated that even if TNA (red) and URP (Yellow) matched in 2013, the yellow wing of the Jubilee party led by DP Ruto was still trying to gain more in Nairobi politics which for a long time had been controlled by the Luo and Kikuyu communities.

“Even if yellow marched with red, the yellow is still trying to stamp authority in Kibra. Yellow will also try to stamp its presence again in Langa’ata, Roysambu and other constituencies in Nairobi in the future” she revealed.

While justifying her point, Odhiambo pointed out that those who were escorting Mariga to the constituency were all former URP members (yellow) except Boni Khalwale who recently shifted from Ford Kenya.

She welcomed Mariga’s candidature saying the campaigns will not be based on Raila ideology but rather the orange party.
