He was accused by Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula of match-fixing. The claims have never been proven and no action has ever been taken despite Football Kenya Federation’s (FKF) promise to look into the matter.

“We have call recordings of the coach telling players to match fix two matches against Mathare and Sony Sugar where he promised them Ksh .200,000 each. We went on to lose the two matches. In fact, we have reported the matter to the police and we have also sent a statement to FKF to investigate the matter because we do not know for how long he has been doing this,” Shimanyula said.
