We are already 17 days into September, that means you have exactly 13 days to return the old Ksh 1000 notes to the bank.

A story has been doing rounds on social media about a woman in Elwak who returned Ksh 6.5 million worth of old notes to the bank. When asked about the source of her money, she said she has been saving one thousand shillings everyday from her butchery job for the past 18 years.

We have not substantiated this story but if it is true, then the woman should be allowed to teach a few lessons on saving at Harvard University.

Whereas the Elwak granny returned her money to the bank, a 60-year-old woman was arrested with Ksh 2.3m in Machakos on Monday. The money is part of the Ksh 72 million that was stolen from an ATM in Nairobi West early this month. It is a mad world.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has refunded Ksh 2.25 million nomination fees to nine aspirants after rogue party officials bungled primaries in Kibra.

Raila handed each of the aspirants Ksh 250,000 they had paid for the party primaries following revelations of how some top party officials orchestrated doctoring of the voters’ roll.

Murdered Dutch Tycoon Tob Cohen

The wife of slain Dutch businessman Tob Cohen has pleaded with the court to release her on bail to allow her take part in a property dispute case.

Lawyer Philip Murgor told a court yesterday that Sarah Wairimu has a 50 per cent stake in property jointly owned with Cohen and she needs to be out fighting for her rights.

The lawyer said his client’s Kitisuru house risked being grabbed because nobody was living there after police found Cohen’s body inside a water tank in the compound last Friday.

Teacher Tabichi Meets US President Donald Trump

World’s best teacher, Peter Tabichi,  from Nakuru has met US President Donald Trump at the White House. The teacher, who won Ksh 100 million after being clinching the 2019 Global Teacher Award, was in the US to address the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested more suspects in the Ksh 72 million Nairobi West ATM heist. The detectives tracked suspects to different locations including Oyugis, Kakamega and Machakos where millions of money was recovered. Will this go down as the dumbest theft ever or should the DCI be given credit for cracking the case?
