Kenyan Premier League bigwigs Gor Mahia quietly jetted back to the country on Tuesday morning from Algeria where they played their first leg Caf Champions league match.

K’Ogalo announced that they would arrive back in the afternoon but Opera News has established that the 18-time KPL champions have since touched down.

Their second-half penalty goal converted by captain Kenneth Muguna could not salvage them from the eventual 4-1 win at the packed Mustapha Chaker stadium in Blida.

Led by head coach Stephen Pollack, the club now shifts attention to local league action as they wait for Caf Champions league return leg battle slated for September 29 at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani. They will first face Chemelil Sugar on Thursday before locking horns with KCB on Sunday in Machakos.

Chairman Ambrose Rachier has since announced that they will no longer host matches at Moi Stadium, Kisumu, for security reasons.

They have so far confirmed their arrival on their social media pages. “The team landed safely this morning and our focus shift to Thursday’s match. #Sirkal,” they wrote.
