The planned post-mortem on the body of Dutch businessman, Tob Cohen, was on Tuesday postponed for the second time to Wednesday.

Pathologist Peter Ndegwa told journalists that the post-mortem will be conducted by the Government Pathologist on Wednesday.

“The postmortem will not happen today due to technicalities. I was in the scene of the crime. The defence team feel that I should not represent the government. So Johansen Oduor who was on leave has agreed to temporarily resume work for the exercise tomorrow,” he said.

The post-mortem which was to happen on Monday was pushed to Tuesday following an order by High Court Judge Jessie Lesiit.

Judge Lessit issued the order following the request of Cohen’s estranged lover, Sarah Wairimu, who requested that the exercise be delayed until Tuesday to allow for her independent pathologist, Prof Andrew Kanyi Gachii, to take part in it.

The tycoon’s body was discovered last week in a sealed underground water tank at his compound in Kitusuru.

DCI boss George Kinoti described the murder of the businessman as gruesome.

“He was murdered in his residence. It was a gruesome murder. They took their time to kill him,” he stated.

Kinoti added: “These people are heartless. If it’s money, domestic issues you can not treat someone that way,”

Ms Wairimu, the prime suspect in the murder of the businessman, is in police custody.
