Kenyan giants Gor Mahia have one foot out of the 2019/20 CAF Champions League tournament after going down to Algerian side USM Alger on Sunday, and many fans now feel that the club’s fate-to crash out, is already sealed.

Captain Kenneth Muguna converted a penalty for K’Ogalo in the second half but that was only a drop in the ocean by the end of the game, USM taking pride of a 4-1 triumph.

This result means the 18-time Kenyan Premier League champions must beat the North African club by at least a margin of 3-0 when they face-off in the return leg at Moi Sports Centre, Kasarani on September 29.

But many fans, who have reacted on the outcome and the upcoming do-or-die battle, think K’Ogalo should just accept defeat and move on.

However, a few fans still believe that the Steven Polack-coached side can still overturn the loss and proceed to the next stage of the tournament. They say the club tried their best in Algeria owing to the fact that they had experienced ‘massive’ financial trouble ahead of their trip for the first-leg match.

Here is the Starting XI which was on duty against USM Alger: David Mapingano (GK), Wellington Ochieng’, Charles Momanyi, Joash Onyango, Geoffrey Ochieng’, Tobias Otieno, Lawrence Juma, Kenneth Muguna, Boniface Omondi, Dickson Ambundo and Nicholas Kipkurui.
