The defence lawyer in the case of Murdered Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen has come under heavy criticism from a section of online users.
Lawyer Philip Murgor who is representing the accused person Sarah Wairimu set the social media on fire moments after dismissing claims that the accused had a hand in the alleged murder of her husband Tob Cohen.
In his defence, Murgor had claimed that her client had no hand in the mysterious death of her husband despite all the claims and alleged pieces of evidence from the investigative body linking her to the murder.
“Wairimu has been in detention for 17 days. She had no opportunity to do anything in her house,” Murgor noted in a press conference on Saturday.
He had wondered how her client could have taken aided in the covering up of the said manhole since all the two occasions Wairimu accessed her Kitisuru home, it was under the escort of detectives.
The furious Kenyans couldn’t, however, hear any from the lawyer whom they accused of defending what was ‘obvious’ in their sight.
The body of Tob Cohen who was reported to have disappeared in July this year was retrieved at his Kitisuru home on Friday from an underground tank which had fresh cement plastered around it.
Many also faulted him over his failures when he was in the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Here are some of the harsh reactions from Facebook and Twitter;

However, others felt that the lawyer was in order that the victim might have been killed when the accused was already in police custody.
Philip Murgor is a qualified lawyer his client might be guilty in the public eye but she is entitled to a fair hearing and a highly qualified advocate for that matter because clearly the odds are against and that advocate he is.
