Harambee Stars Defender Set to Build Toilets for Kisumu School

Harambee Stars defender Lawrence Olum is set to hold a soccer clinic at Minnesota in America whose proceeds will be channeled towards building toilets for Nyando Primary School in Kisumu County.

The Minnesota United central defender decided to take on the project after he was approached by the school from his Kisumu rural home. The soccer clinic has been organized by the player through his Lawrence Olum Foundation.

Among events that attendees will partake at the clinic are; Silent auctions, Barbecue, Music among others.

Through a social media post, Olum has confirmed the event urging those around Minneapolis and St. Paul area to show up for the event and support his course.

“Minneapolis and St. Paul area. Come hang out with the guys from Lawrence Olum foundation. This will be a fun-filled day of activities for the whole family. We will have Silent auctions, BBq, Music and so much more. Come hang out for a great cause. Hope to see you all,” he posted.

The 35-year old further stated that all the proceeds from the event will be channeled towards building toilets for Nyando Primary School students where an approximated 300 pupils will benefit from the improved sanitation.

“All proceeds from this event will go to benefit Lawrence Olum foundation. This year’s project will be building Nyando Primary school permanent toilets to improve sanitation and the general health of the 300 students. Hope to see you all out there for a great cause,” read another post.

The 35-year old made his Harambee Stars debut in 2014 but has not been part of Stars set-up in recent years. He has played for ten club (mostly in the US) during his career that has spanned 13 years.
