Boni Khalwale on Wednesday took an aim at family members of Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka following the nullification of Macdonald Mariga’s candidacy in the Kibra by-election race.

The former Kakamega Senator through a tweet, stated that Mariga’s treatment was unfair and uncalled for in comparison to how Kalonzo’s son Kennedy Kalonzo and Raila’s brother Oburu Odinga were treated.

The tough talking Khalwale pointed out that the two were given free parliamentary seats in the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) while the former Inter player was being denied a chance to compete for the parliamentary seat.

Khalwale reiterated that he would not let the matter rest until equality had been achieved.

“I come from a most unequal country where Kennedy Kalonzo and Oburu Odinga are gifted free parliamentary seats in EALA but Mariga is being denied the chance to compete for a seat in Kibra. The Hustler nation will speak.” read the tweet.

Earlier today, Mariga had filed a petition at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commisiions’s Disputes Resolution Committee after the elections body had disqualified him from the race on Tuesday.

The former Parma midfielder’s ambition suffered a setback after it was deemed that he was not a registered voter.

According to IEBC Kibra Returning Ofiicer Beatrice Muli, the details of the Jubilee flagbearer were missing in the voter’s register.

“I have verified and checked and I could not find his details. At this point, my hands are tied. We have invalidated Mariga’s nomination,” remarked Muli.

The once Harambee Stars captain however reassured his supporters and maintained that he was duly registered before deciding to run for the seat left vacant by the late Ken Okoth.

If cleared, Mariga will battle it out with ODM party candidate Imran Okoth and ANC party candidate Eliud Owalo for the chance to represent the area on November 7.
