This comes hours after both ODM and Jubilee presented certificates to Imran Okoth and Macdonald Mariga respectively.

Party leader Raila Odinga was present during the certificate presentation ceremony and was joined by ten other candidates who had battled out for the position to be ODM’s flag bearer.

The candidates reiterated that the late Ken Okoth’s brother had their full support after conceding defeat during the party nominations that were conducted on Saturday.

ODM’s Director of Elections Junet Mohammed pointed out that they were confident they will win the elections because  ODM is the only party that conducted credible party nominations.

The tough talking Junet claimed Jubilee’s Mariga and Alliance National Party’s Eliud Owalo were handpicked by their respective parties.

“Kile chama ambacho kimefanya nominations nchini katika uchaguzi huu wa Kibra ni ODM; wale wengine hawakufanya nominations…walifanya selection! Nawaambia Jubilee, ANC, Tangatanga na hao wengine wajitayarishe kwani Kibra ni ODM ( The only party that conducted nominations in the country for the Kibra seat was ODM. The others did not do elections. They did selections. I am warning Jubilee, ANC, Tangatanga and the rest to be prepared for Kibra belongs to ODM)” Junet said.

Mariga was cleared and presented with the party certificate by the Secretary General Raphael Tuju and vowed to help him clinch the vacant seat left by Ken Okoth.

“We wish you all the best at the battleground and we will support you,” remarked Tuju.

Prezzo, Imran, Mariga and Owalo are set to compete for the seat on November 7.
