3 Shot Dead After Attempt to Rob Police Officer’s Wife Goes Horribly Wrong

Police officers, on Monday, evening gunned down three suspects after a robbery attempt went sideways.

Reports indicated that the three were part of a five-man gang that had accosted the wife of a police officer at Matopeni, Kayole area in Nairobi.

The whereabouts of the other two criminals and the reason behind the robbery remained unknown.

In July this year, unknown people assaulted a senior police officer and robbed him of his gun in Machakos County.

Farah Maalim, who is the County Police Commander, had revealed that the incident took place at a food joint in the outskirts of Machakos town.

The officer, who was identified as Huron Addinasir, was rushed to Machakos Level 5 hospital and was later moved to Nairobi South Hospital for further treatment.

The police boss further narrated that the suspects made away with jewellery and an unknown amount of money.

In the same month, three robbers were killed in Marurui area, Nairobi, after a confrontation with police officers.

An officer from the flying squad patrol that had trailed them was injured after a shootout ensued.

Nairobi Police Boss, Phillip Ndolo, at the time, explained that an AK 47 rifle had been recovered from the criminals and their bodies had been moved to the city mortuary.
