‘It Was Planned for Months!’ Senator Mwaura Spills The Beans on Nyoro-Kamanda Fight

Senator Isaac Mwaura claims that a meeting was planned to attack Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

Jubilee nominated senator, Isaac Mwaura, has revealed that a plan to attack Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP), Ndindi Nyoro, was made months before the MP was involved in a fistfight at a church service on Sunday.

Mwaura, who spoke to NTV’s I am live breakfast show, said he was part of the meeting that was orchestrating the attack but opted out.

“I was there many months ago when they planned to go and attack Ndindi Nyoro in his home turf.

“And I told them no! Because this young man is my friend since campus days I have known him very well and I have seen him grow,” stated Mwaura.

The senator further condemned the incident adding that turning the church into a battlefield was an abomination.

On Sunday, at Gitui Catholic Church in Murang’a County, Nominated MP Maina Kamanda and Nyoro turned a church fundraiser into a chaotic scene after they clashed on who was to welcome guests to address the church.

After addressing the congregation, Nyoro demanded that he introduce the visiting MPs but Kamanda opposed the move noting he was the chief guest, hence it was his duty to do so.

Nyoro refused to move out of the podium insisting, “I can’t allow people from Nairobi to come and take over my constituency as if they know this area.

“I am an elected leader and I tell Mr Kamanda to his face that let them produce the list of the guests so that I can invite them.”

County Police Commander Josephat Kinyua’s move to the podium seeking to calm the situation bore no fruits.

Chaos erupted as Mr Nyoro’s supporters, who thought he was being arrested, rushed to his side and the church became unruly for minutes.

The push and pull later calmed and the fundraiser continued.

However, when Nyoro appeared for an interview at Inooro Tv, hours later, a contingent of police officers was seen at the Royal Media Services (RMS), ostensibly to arrest him.

Reacting to the police presence, the MP said the move must have been prompted by the chaotic scene at the church service and said he will not leave the media’s premises adding that his security was at risk.

According to Citizen Television political affairs editor, Francis Gachuri, the Kiharu MP left RMS premises at 11.30pm in the company of fellow MPs.
