Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is expected to miss some of Arsenal’s games this month. The Swiss midfielder will take paternity leave as he is expecting the birth of his first child later September.

Xhaka joined Arsenal in 2016 but has received lots of criticism from fans following high profiles errors that have cost the team points. The latest came in the North London Derby clash against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates.

With Arsenal trailing 1-0, Xhaka slid in and fouled Heung Min Son in the box and Spurs were awarded penalty kick which Harry Kane scored from. Unai Emery’s team did manage to salvage a draw but the Xhaka mistake was not forgotten.

Should the news be true, it means that the midfielder could miss the trip to Old Trafford on the 30th of September. The midfielder has been Arsenal’s captain in all matches he has played this season and it will be interesting to see how they cope without him.
