Sensed Defeat? Moses Kuria React After His Preferred Candidate Makes Suggesting Statement

Moses Kuria helps his prefered ODM aspirant in the campaign.

Just a few minutes after Benson Musungu, an aspirant in Kibra ODM primaries, said he will make a statement on what happened during the voting exercise Gatundu MP Moses Kuria has taken to social media to sarcastically question the political fate Luhya people.

Musungu was Kuria’s preferred candidate in the ODM primaries.

The MP wrote on Facebook: “Waluhya mtasaidika aje? Ni nani ataokoa Waluhya? Tukunywe chai tuongee kiasi (Luhya people how are we going to help you? who will save you? Let’s take a cup of tea as we deliberate),” said the MP.

Kuria went ahead and said: “Luhya people let’s take tea as we talk.  Who cursed us? shall we keep salivating as others enjoy?” he questioned.

The statement by the MP comes just a day after he accompanied his candidate for a final campaign to rally Kibera people behind Musungu.

The ODM primaries attracted 10 aspirants, including Peter Orero (Mwalimu) and Christone Odhiambo (Kris Darlin).

Others are Stephen Okello, Tony Sira, Reuben Ojijo, Eric Ochieng, Shem Owino, John Otieno and Bernard Okoth.

The counting exercise is still ongoing by the time of writing this article.

The voting exercise began on Saturday 6 a.m. and was marred with several hitches some station reportedly started voting after 930 a.m.

However, the ODM Party National Elections Board (NEB) released a statement saying they were satisfied with how the exercise was conducted.

“The Board is satisfied with the exercise so far and wishes to thank all the aspirants and party members for conducting themselves with dignity and decorum throughout the day, “read in part the statement by the Board’s chair Judith Pareno.

The board also acknowledged hitches that were experienced when the exercise began and said the issues were solved promptly.

The by-election is set for November 7.
