NSL Round-up: Ushuru, Nairobi Stima Continue With Impressive Run

 

Nairobi Stima continued with their perfect start to the 2019/20 National Super League campaign with a 2-1 win over Kenya Police at Karuturi Grounds in Naivasha on Saturday afternoon.

Having beaten Northern Wanderers 8-0 in their opening match of the season a week ago, Stima went into the game as favorites and they lived to the hype beating Charles Korea’s side.

Former AFC Leopards man Victor Omune opened the scoring for Stima in the 61st minute before Police captain David Oluoch equalized in the 75th minute. The parity, however, lasted for four minutes as former Jericho All Stars man Caleb Olilo who scored a hattrick a week ago scored the winner for Stima.


At Kianyaga Stadium, Fortune Sacco overcame a determined Northern Wanderers side, 2-1 to register their first win of the season having dished out a walkover on match day one. Dennis Kariuki and Babu Kisayi scored the goals for Fortune. Albert Lodang got the consolation goal for the visitors.

At Camp Toyoyo Grounds, Administration Police and St. Joseph’s Youth FC played to a one-all draw. Omondi Ochulla scored for AP while former Wazito FC forward Salim Akatha earned the Saints a point with the equalizer.

In the other match played at Toyoyo, Kibera Black Stars was held to a 1-1 draw. At Kericho Green Stadium, Ushuru FC defeated the hosts AP Bomet 2-0.
