Jesse Were to Miss Uganda Cranes Match

Zambia based Kenyan international Jesse Were will miss Harambee Stars’ Sunday friendly match against Uganda Cranes with a harmsting problem.

Were had been recalled to the national fold by new coach Francis Kimanzi but a hamstring problem he picked in training has since ruled him out of the game.

With John Avire going AWOL, Kimanzi has two strikers available for the game. They are: Japan based Michael Olunga and Ulinzi’s Enosh Ochieng.

Meanwhile coach Kimanzi says the team is ready to play the Cranes.

“There are no friendly matches in the national team. Eevery game is important at this stage and I want the players to give this game their all.

“We have had just five training sessions together but we can never have enough time with the national team so it is always a race against time to ensure the team is at the level you would wish to be. However, I am satisfied with the work we have put in so far and we are ready to face Uganda,” he stated.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 4PM.
