The Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Friday campaigned for ODM’s Boniface Musungu in Kibra Constituency ahead of the party’s nomination slated for Saturday.

Mr Musungu will battle it out with nine other candidates seeking to carry ODM’s flag during the Kibra Mini polls slated for November 7.

Kuria, who was elected on a Jubilee ticket, made rounds in Kibra together with the aspirant aboard a campaign truck that was draped with campaign posters and ODM colours.

Although he did not address the crowds, he posted a live video of the campaigns on his official Facebook page.

The MP made good of his Monday declaration that he would support Musungu because he is Kibra born and therefore the best choice to fill the vacant seat left by Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer on July 26

“Political tourists and slum tourists will not help Kibra. The person I vouch for to take forward from where Ken left is another Born in Kibra, Benson Musungu” Kuria stated on Facebook.

Kuria’s action to openly campaign for the ODM aspirant could put him into loggerheads with his party Jubilee which has nominated footballer MacDonald Mariga to represent them in the race.

It could also be interpreted to mean that some sections within the political party are unhappy with Mariga’s selection who is largely seen to be fronted by Deputy President William Ruto.
