Nyali MP Mohamed Ali alias Jicho Pevu, has penned down a consoling message to former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Political Affairs and Strategy, Wafula Buke, four days after he was sacked.

Through a Twitter post, the former KTN investigative journalist encouraged Wafula advising him to stay put just like those who had earlier been reportedly betrayed despite standing with the party.

“Brother Wafula Buke you are a great man. We who stood with ODM since its inception but later betrayed when we needed the party the most understand and feel you. Mungu si Athumani. It shall be well,” read the tweet.

In 2017, Ali quit ODM Party after allegedly being rigged out of Nyali constituency ODM nominations.

While announcing his departure, Ali stated that the nominations were a selection and not an election as he had anticipated.

On August 30, 2019, after braving months of rebellious streak characterised by ugly spats with his bosses, Wafula was finally sacked.

While announcing his sacking through a Facebook post, Wafula vowed to fight back for his job.

“Friends and enemies, I was sacked yesterday as Director for Political Affairs and Strategy of ODM. Mr Edwin Sifuna, Mr Oduor Ongwen and Ms Pareno, since you can’t pick my calls, I hereby confirm receiving your letter. I ruffled snakes and have received my feedback. I disagree with you so I will see what to do about that. I just lost income but the struggle for a better ODM is for us all. The funeral for losing a job continues. No burial arrangements…” read part of his post.

His sacking was partly blamed on ODM Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, by some supporters who claimed that the SG was out to deem all political stars from the region inside the Orange party.
