Nzoia Sugar has been losing players to other teams over the years due to financial problems but club chairman Yappets Mokua is proud of his ex-players’ progress at other clubs terming his side a factory.

“We are a factory! When I see players we have groomed shining in the league and outside the country, it makes me proud. Muchiri, Rupia, Etyang, Boniface, Patrick scored goals over the weekend which is a good thing. We also have more of our former players who are doing well at their clubs and this makes us proud, it means we are doing something right down here, I don’t think there’s a KPL club without an ex-Nzoia Sugar player,” he told Opera News.

Mokua went further to elaborate on why his club doesn’t find it hard to replace players who quit the club. He says the club’s grass-root scouting network has played a key role in identifying good unknown players.

“Replacing departees is very easy for us because the Western region has many talented players. We have put in place a good scouting network to ensure that we get to identify unknown quality players and the system has served us well over the year, we never lack players,” he added.
