Wazito ropes in Ushuru FC defender, loans out two

Wazito FC has confirmed that David Otieno Odhiambo has joined the club from Ushuru FC for an undisclosed period of time.The central defender has previously played for Gor Mahia and was part of Wazito’s team during pre-season.

Club Sporting Director, Solomon Alubala termed Otieno’s arrival a huge boost to the squad saying the team will benefit from his experience.

“David is an experienced quality player. He has shown his quality over the years and we are pleased to have him on board. He is also a leader and that’s another quality that he brings to the team. His arrival makes us stronger,” Alubala is quoted on the club’s website.

The club also confirmed that Washington Munene and Anthony Njeru have been loaned out for a season. Munene has moved to AFC Leopards while Njeru has joined Nzoia Sugar until the end of the 2019/20 season.

“Every player wants to play week in week out. We thought it’s important for them to leave for other clubs so that they can get more play-time. They remain our players and we believe that by playing more they will become better players. We wish them well at their respective clubs,” he added.

Wazito played out a 1-1 draw with Nzoia Sugar in their first Premier League match of the new season. Next Up for them is an away fixture against Western Stima on the 14th of September.
