A KTN journalist was on Monday evening ambushed by unknown people attackers hours after he left work on his first day.

Former K24 journalist Franklin Wallah was attacked by six armed men in the CBD as he went home.

Speaking on phone to this writer, Wallah explained that the thugs had trailed him after he left a KCB Atm in the CBD wielding knives and other crude weapons.

The ex-Media Max employee further added that the attackers followed him all the way close to his residence, where they made away with his two phones, a watch and some money.

“I pity them for what they have done for they know-not.

“All in all, I thank the Almighty God, for I escaped unhurt and life is going on,” remarked Wallah through his Facebook post.

The Swahili speaking journalist revealed that he had reported the matter at Kahawa Sukari Police Station.

The ordeal happened hours after the journalist announced his switch to the Standard Group-owned station, a month after resigning from K24 TV.

His departure in August came after he returned from Somalia where he had been sent on an assignment.

Wallah made his name in the media world through his several crime compelling pieces such as Kisirani Kisauni (Terror Gangs of Kisauni) and Giza la Gaza (Terror Gangs of Kayole).

The Daystar University alumni joins the investigative desk that is led by Hussein Mohammed in a bid to revive the department.

Reports indicated that Wallah had a new strategy that would be adopted by the Mombasa Road-based company to help shed light on crime within the country.
