Embakasi East MP Babu Owino on Tuesday raised concern over the Xenophobic attacks facing South Africa.

The lawmaker through a tweet stated that it was heartbreaking to see black people burning each other alive.

Babu highlighted that the cause of Xenophobia was due to problems of race, religion and politics.

The controversial politician pointed out that the issue of racism was already a problem that had gotten out of hand and urged fellow Africans to end the hate among them.

“We were all humans until race disconnected us, religion separated us, politics divided us and wealth classified us,”

“It is so scary to watch a video clip of black people burning other black people alive. We already have racism to deal with let’s stop the hate!!” read the tweet.

Xenophobia refers to the dislike of people from other countries.

Reports indicated that this attack targeted Nigerian nationals residing in South Africa.

Clips had emerged online of lynching and looting of Nigerians and the shops they owned.

South African Police Minister Bheki Cele had disregarded the claims of Xenophobia and claimed that the unrest had been caused by senseless violence.
