Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka has joined other Gusii leaders to endorse Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i for a top seat in 2022.
Speaking in Nyaribari Masaba Constituency during the burial of former area MP Dr Hezron Manduku, Onyonka advised Matiang’i to sit close to Raila as he knows the right political path.
Onyonka has also insisted that the Gusii community knows the direction they are going to take in 2022 succession politics.
“That man Raila Odinga loves you, sit close to him, we know where we are going, he knows the way,” Onyonka stated.
He also sent a warning to Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei who threatened to profile those who oppose Ruto’s presidency stating that as the Gusii community they are ready to take them up.

Other Gusii leaders also echoed Onyonka’s sentiments. But Raila maintained that he knows what is best for Matiang’i and he will do it when the right time comes.
“I don’t need to be introduced to Matiang’i. He is my son. Kisii is my home. Go slow, I know how to plan on this,” he said.
On his part, Dr Matiang’i avoided politics and assured that he is committed to his job as a CS.
“It’s my time to work. If it’s closing all bars to count people, that is it and we mean business. I know you want me to say something, but i will say when its right time comes,” he said.
