Man Slashes Two Sons to Death After Wife Fails to Provide Maize Flour

Man hacks two sons to death after disagreement with wife.

It was a doomed morning for residents of Cheptalal village in Konoin Sub-County in Bomet, after they woke up to a sad news of a 28-year-old man who had allegedly slashed his two sons to death.

The incident happened after the wife reportedly failed to provide 4 kilograms of maize flour.

According to Citizen Tv, Konoin Sub-County police boss Alex Shikondi said the suspect, Peter Lagat, who is a casual laborer at a tea estate had demanded his wife to support him in fending for the needs of their family.

The suspect went rogue when the wife failed to heed to the demands leading to the murder of the two minors aged six and four.

At the time of the incident, the wife, Lorna Chebet, is said to have sought refuge at the neighborhood after fearing for her life.

Chebet who is an ECDE teacher thereafter reported the incident to the police at around 10 p.m. on Friday.

Police swung into action and launched a manhunt for the suspect who had gone into hiding. They managed to arrest him on Saturday (Today) noon.

The suspect is currently held at Konoin police station pending further investigations.
