Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho today became the first Governor to attend a Team Embrace rally.

Accompanied by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, Joho said he was fully in support of the women’s agenda priding himself as the first male Governor to attend such an event.

“There is one governor who happens to be my close friend. He called me and told me that he had heard that I will be attending Team Embrace rally. I told him I am that Governor who loves women and I must be in the midst of the women’s group,” said Joho as he addressed the gathering.

The governor, who is an ardent supporter of Nasa leader Raila Odinga pledged to stand firm in fostering their agenda countrywide.

The women’s group had organised a rally at Tononoka grounds in Mombasa where they continued with their agenda of rallying Kenyans behind Uhuru-Raila Handshake deal.

Dressed in white and pink colors, the group, led by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and her Kitui counterpart Charity Ngilu, made a triumphant-like entry to Tononoka grounds in a convoy of fuel guzzlers vehicles.

The group’s support on the Handshake saw women allied to the Tanga Tanga political faction launch their own which they branded Inua Mama.

Inua Mama, which is led by Kandara MP Alice Wahome, is in support of the Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions.

The two groups have been locking owns on political ideologies with 2022 elections the talking point in their gatherings.
