The women legislators’ team formed in support of ODM leader Raila Odinga’s handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta, told Kilifi men to buy for their wives uniforms if at all they find school-going children attractive.

They also warned the elderly men, who were marrying teenagers, urging them to give the girl child an opportunity to grow and achieve their ambitions.
“Wazee wangonjee wasichana waive…watu hawakuli nyama mbichi. Ukitamani msichana anayevaa uniform za shule mnunulie mke wako pair moja (The elders should wait for girls to mature… people don’t eat raw meat. If you lust over a schoolgirl wearing uniform buy a pair for your wife),” Embrace stated.

Team Embrace has since called for the government’s hand to tame the increased cases of early pregnancies in the region.
The group also condemned the killing of anyone with grey hair in the region terming it an outdated practice.
On calls for a constitutional amendment, Embrace maintained its earlier stand of not supporting Punguza Mzigo sponsored by Dr Ekuru Aukot’s Thirdway Alliance.
