Former Spain and Barcelona manager Luis Enrique on Thursday night lost his daughter aged just 9 years due to cancer. Xana was diagnosed with bone cancer five months ago.
In June, Enrique stepped down as coach of the Spanish national team after less than a year in charge to be with his daughter.
“You will be the star that guides our family. We will miss you very much but we will remember you every day of our lives in the hope that in the future we will meet again,” Enrique said while paying tribute to his deceased daughter.
Enrique is the only manager alongside Pep Guardiola to win the Spanish treble when he guided Barcelona to the La Liga title, the Copa Del Rey and UEFA Champions League crowns in 2015.
