Comedian Chipukeezy, Kartelo, and Ebru TV’s drama seem to be far from over, days after the veteran comedian accused his former employer of social class discrimination, Ebru TV’s management has released a press statement on the same.
Ebru TV’s management has denied terminating Kartelo based on his social class status, according to them, Kartelo failed to meet the company’s expectations adding that he was not their employee.

Press Release On Chipukeezy
We wish to clarify the issues that have been in the public eye. To be fundamentally clear Ebru did not terminate Kartelo for what Chipukeezy claims as ‘ghetto-ness’ but we no longer wanted to work with him which is our right as the management of Ebru. pic.twitter.com/gYx7vtLQrP— Ebru TV Kenya (@EbruTVKenya) August 29, 2019
A few days ago, the comedian canceled his contract with the TV station for allegedly asking him to drop his co-host, Kartelo, from the show.
In a long Instagram post, Chipu said the station wanted him to drop Kartelo because the show had become too “ghetto”.
”So I received an email from Ebru TV asking me to terminate my agreement and collaboration with Kartelo on my show. They say they are a bit concerned that the show has become a bit ghetto because of the many youths (upcoming musicians and comedians) on the show,” he wrote.
