Has Kenyan Striker Dennis Oliech joined the race to replace the late Ken Okoth as the next Kibra MP?
Gor Mahia announced on Tuesday evening that they had terminated the striker’s contract because he had offered himself as a ‘candidate for elective politics a move that is likely to portray the club in bad light.’
A campaign poster with Oliech’s picture has been doing rounds on social media with unconfirmed reports stating that he shared the picture with his former Gor Mahia teammates on a WhatsApp group.

The poster has a picture of Oliech donning a Gor Mahia jersey and that of opposition leader Raila Odinga in the background.
Prepared under an Orange-themed background, colours associated with ODM, the banner is captioned “Vote Dennis Oliech for Kibra MP 2019”

The poster has elicited mixed reactions from the online community. One Twitter user Hesborn Nyagoha has insinuated that the Kibra race will be a football contest between Oliech and Mariga.
