Rape is a serious issue and one which many countries are battling with in present times. It is sad while one was foregoing her duties, of carrying out the census process, she was raped. Many have speculated that she needs to be compensated but how easy can that be? As much as justice should be served, do you think compensation would ease her pain?
The census enumerator was attached to Maseno, Kisumu County, she has since been hospitalized after she was on Saturday night gang raped and robbed by unknown attackers. The woman was ambushed outside her gate after she had been dropped off by her supervisor following completion of the exercise. The suspects were hiding in a thicket near the womanโs gate and pounced on her immediately she was dropped off.
So will the Kenyan state compensate the enumerator who was raped?

The money can never “clear” the trauma.
Damages are paid in the event of “breach of duty that causes foreseeable loss.”
Money can get her the treatment and care she needs for the period she needs it, as well as care for her & dependents in any way they see fit.โ Dr. Njoki Ngumi ๐ฐ๐ช (@njokingumi) August 25, 2019
Parents of the students who were burnt in kyanguli school haven’t been compensated even though the judge awarded 58M to the 55 family, each family to receive 857K…unless we put pressure for the state to compensate the state will forget about her

It is the state that was responsible for her safety as she performed her duties so it is the state that should compensate her for failing.

Her duties were done. She was going home. The state failed her as all other citizens & residents who’ve been robbed, raped killed in matatus or on the road on their way home. Unless her terms of employment stated she was to be dropped home safely, she is another victim of crime.
