Arsenal lost their first Premier League match of the season after going down 3-1 to Champions League holders Liverpool at Anfield. Both teams went into the match having won the first two matches but as Arsenal found out, Jurgen Klopp’s side is miles ahead of them.
The first half was an evenly balanced affair with Arsenal restricting Liverpool to baseless possession football but Joel Matip’s header from a corner gave the hosts the lead with a minute of the first half left to play.
The second half saw two errors from new Arsenal signing David Luiz take the game away from the Gunners. First, he pulled Mohamed Salah’s shirt inside the box which led to a penalty that was converted by Salah.
Minutes later, having been booked for the earlier offense on Salah, the Brazillian center back was easily beaten by the Egyptian International and he raced on to score Liverpool’s third and his second of the match.
David Luiz actions prompted lots of reactions from the Arsenal fans online..
I don't know what Arsenal saw in David Luiz 😂😂😂, yes he can pass the ball but he is no defender, especially in a back four – I hope Emery wants to play with three center backs (if they actually have defenders at arsenal)

Commentators are adamant that Arsenal have lost because Liverpool are just ‘far superior in ability’.
While there’s truth in contrast of ability, we’d be walking away with a draw if it wasn’t for the 2 [unnecessary] David Luiz mistakes.
