Arsenal manager Unai Emery has hinted at the possibility of starting record summer signing Nicholas Pepe at Anfield. The Gunners travel to face the European Champions Liverpool in what will be a top of the table clash.
Nicholas Pepe made his Arsenal debut n the win against Newcastle but only played for the last 20 minutes. He was then introduced at half time in the Gunners second match against Burnley where he looked impressive near full match fitness.
Now, it appears like Unai Emery is ready to hand the Ivory Coast International his first Arsenal start against Jurgen Klopp’s table leaders.
”I think Nicholas Pepe’s individual performances are progressively getting better. For Saturday, he is maybe ready to have more minutes. I am going to decide on Friday, but really his progress has been positive and has been good for the team,” The Spaniard said in his press conference.
Both teams picked wins in their first two Premier League matches and are tied with 6 points but Liverpool has a superior goal difference. Last season, Arsenal were hammered 5-1 as Liverpool ran riot on their way to a second-place finish in the league.
