Sofapaka midfielder joins Wazito FC

Wazito Football Club has confirmed the signing of Michael Oduor Lumumba from Sofapaka FC on a long-term deal.

The 23-year old joined Sofapaka in 2017 and went on to become a key player for Batoto Ba Mongo scoring a number of key goals and setting up others for his teammates.

An attacking midfielder by trade, Oduor can also play on the flanks or behind the lead striker highlighting his ability to easily adapt to switch in positions when called upon.

Club sporting director Solomon Alubala hailed Oduor’s arrival terming him one of the best young talents in the country.

“He is a good young player and we are happy to have him on board because we want to develop a good team for the future. He is still growing and we will give him room and the right environment to develop further,” Alubala told the club website.

Oduor on his end stated that he has been received well by his new teammates and vowed to give his best to the team.

“I feel good because I have been welcomed well by my new teammates, I already feel at home here. To the fans, I want to promise them that we will give them entertainment and results,  I urge them to rally behind the team when the new season kicks off,” he stated.

Wazito FC has signed over 10 players this transfer window.
