Just hours after Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i announced that all bars in the country will remain closed on 23rd and 24th of this month to allow smooth census activities, ‘alcohol loving Kenyans’ have taken to various social media sites to express their views on the same.
On Wednesday, Matiang’i announced that all bars in the country will remain closed for two days starting on Saturday to pave way for a smooth national census exercise.
“We are going to close all our social places especially the bars at 5 pm to give you an hour to be home before the enumerators arrive at 6 pm so that they can find you at home,” he said
His announcement, however, lit the social media with some of the users promising to disrespect the directive unless they are locked inside the bars while the exercise is on.
Others decried the much-anticipated EPL match between Arsenal and Liverpool clubs which will be played on Saturday evening with others urging KNBL officials to involve the use nail permanent inks similar to that of IEBC so that they can distinguish between those who will have been counted and those yet to be counted.
Here are some of the hilarious reactions from Facebook and Twitter;

Should have advised Kenyans to have a drink at their locals and aks mama or mtoto to call once the enumerators arrive in the vicinity. Go to the house, be counted and back to the local to do what you do best!
