Kenya Mpya Bus Sacco has come under intense criticism both from passengers and other road users over the recklessness exhibited by its drivers.

This comes at a time the SACCO is undergoing to reclaim its already damaged reputation after a series of accidents involving its drivers.

Overspeeding, especially along the busy Thika superhighway has been reported by most motorists as one of the worst mistakes the SACCO drivers have been involving themselves on a daily basis.

The recent case touching on the SACCO was reported on Wednesday after one of its buses overturned along Kenyatta road in Nairobi injuring many passengers.

This is not the first time the SACCO is hitting the headlines for the same mistakes. Since 2015, Kenya Mpya Buses, (also called Neo Kenya) have been involved in numerous traffic rules violations.

Kenya Mpya fleet buses caused a number of accidents in December 2017 and January 2018, prompting the government to threaten it with a ban.

Most of the accidents have been attributed to recklessness by the SACCO’s drivers who are mostly under the influence of alcohol and other drugs while driving.

Following this, Kenyans have ganged up to call on the government to ban the reckless SACCO saying that many lives will be lost if the government continue sitting back and watching.

One of the main reasons given as to why the offensive SACCO is still operational despite ban calls is the fact that some of the SACCO stakeholders are influential government officials.

Here are some of the pleas from members of the public to the government to shut down Kenya Mpya Bus SACCO;

Mike Okumu This company is now a menace. From parking in towns to reckless driving on roads. They should be all grounded permanently. I believe they’re owned by untouchable drug lords.
