The dramatic divorce case of  Meru Senator Mithika Linturi and his estranged wife Marianne Kittany has revealed details of their private life following a court proceeding in Milimani Court.

Speaking before the Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, Kittany claimed that she managed to stop Linturi from tabling a motion at the Parliament which was meant to impeach the former CS of Devolution Anne Waiguru after she ‘tricked’ him to a night of lovemaking at Sopa Lodge in Naivasha.

According to Kittany, who is former Chief of Staff at Deputy President William Ruto’s office, if the impeachment motion was to succeed, Linturi had to be in Parliament to introduce it.

“However, on the day that he was to table the motion, we were with him at Sopa Lodge,” Kitany told the court.

She revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta wanted the embarrassing motion to ‘die’ and never come to a vote, hence tasking her and others from the Presidency with making sure he dropped it.

The former Chief of Staff further claimed that it is on that night when she agreed to take the relationship to the next level and introduce him to her relatives.

On Wednesday morning, she narrated before the court how she housed the Meru Senator in her Kileleshwa house after he was chased out of his rented house in Ngong over rent arrears amounting to Ksh. 200, 000 which she later helped him clear.

The court heard that it was in that same year that the two planned a family trip to Zanzibar and Australia with their six children which saw Kittany pay Ksh. 11 million for the Australia trip as the legislator never contributed.

The former Chief Staff went further to tell the court of a house in Runda which the two leased in June 2015 for a one year to enable them to accommodate their six children as they construct and renovate the house in Meru.

Kitany narrated how in January 2016, the two hired an architect and started the construction of the House in Meru two months later at a cost of Ksh. 36million.

“The chunk of that money was from my pocket…I gave Ksh. 26million. I gave out that money because we had agreed to stay together as husband and wife…,” she said.

Kittuny further revealed how Linturi later duped her into believing that he was divorced.

She told the court that Linturi had informed her that he was single and available, having divorced his three wives; Susan Gacheri Kimani, Mercy Kaimenyi and Hellen Mumbi Kariuki at separate times.

“I came in as the fourth wife,” she stated.

Kitany claimed that out of her six children, three of them each had different mothers but they all moved into her house. The court also heard that she was a mother to Linturi’s children and brought them clothes and snacks.

It is also in April this year in a court proceeding that Kittuny alleged in court that Linturi is poor in bed and that that the legislator denied her conjugal right during the course of their marriage often citing exhaustion or sickness.
