Gor Mahia picked up their first trophy of the season with a 1-0 victory over Bandari United in the 2019 Kenya Premier League Super Cup. Lawrence Juma’s second-half strike was enough for the record Kenyan Champions who were reduced to 10 men following Tobias Otieno’s sending off late in the match.
The match was a highly entertaining affair despite being a low scoring encounter. One moment in particular from Gor Mahia defender Joash Onyango drew large cheers from the fans.
The Kenyan International had a fantastic match and deep in stoppage time, he controlled the ball perfectly before showing great skills to nutmeg Bandari striker Wycliffe Ochomo who had come to apply the press on him.

Next, up for the two teams are the second legs of their continental assignments. Bandari will be away to Sudan’s Al Ahly Shendi whom they drew 0-0 in Nairobi while Gor Mahia welcome Aigle Noir in the CAF Champions League qualifiers after a barren draw in Burundi.
