NSL side completes swoop for former AFC Leopards defender

Former AFC Leopards defender is set to join National Super League side Nairobi City Stars. The center back has been training with City Stars and will make the move official before the new League season begins.

Nicknamed as ‘Shitu’ Salim has also played for Ligi Ndogo FC, Sofapaka, Posta Rangers before making his big move to AFC Leopards.

Salim was released from his Leopards contract last month alongside Erick Ndayishimiye, Jairus Adira, forwards Aziz Okaka, Wayi Yeka, and Marcel Kahiza, on head coach Cassa Mbungo’s recommendation.

The Second most successful Kenyan team unveiled 7 new players last month. Vincent Habamahoro, Tresor Ndikumana,  Ismaila Diarra, Soter Kayumba, Hansel Ochieng, Robert Mudenyu and Ugandan international goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan have all put pen to paper at the Den.

AFC Leopards started off last season on a disappointing note but drastically improved in performances and results following the appointment of Cassa Mbungo as the head coach. The team finished in 13th position with 43 points.
