Kenyan Premier League giants Gor Mahia are set to appoint a new head coach after their former Manager Hassan Oktay resigned on Tuesday.
Through their official Twitter handle, K’Ogalo confirmed the Turk asked the club to release him from contractual duties that bound him to K’Ogalo until end of next year.

Steven George Pollack
According to reports, the Kenyan giants are heavily linked with an English coach Steven George Pollack. It is, therefore, wise to know more about Pollack- the possible figure to join the Green Army.
Pollack was born in England on 10 January 1961 (age 58). He has both England and Finland citizenship. Polack played for 13 seasons for RoPS Rovaniemi and FC Inter in the Finnish premier division Veikkausliiga from 1984 to 1994 and 1996–1997 as a defender making 301 appearances. He has also coached 10 teams in Finland.
African Football History (As a manager)
He first coached King Faisal Babes F.C. in Ghana from 2007 to 2009. Pollack left in 2009 when the management felt he was so expensive and was replaced by former Gor Mahia coach Zdravko Logarušić. King Faisal FC is currently being coached by Dorian Marin (former AFC Leopard coach. He coached AFC for less than a month)
The 58-year-old English coach then moved to small but ambitious Berekum Chelsea (Ghana) in 2009 and in 2010/2011 season he gave Berekum Chelsea their first and only Ghana premier league title.
Pollack made a debut in CAFCL in 2011/2012 leading Berekum Chelsea to CAFCL group stages. After making a fat CV, Pollack sneaked back to Finland in 2013 before making a return to Berekum Chelsea in 2016.
In 2017 Pollack joined new Asante Kotoko. By then Kotoko had won the Ghana FA cup and they needed a coach who can lead them in CAF matches. Kotoko bought every good player who was available in Ghana and roped in more players from other countries.
Everyone believed that was the best team Kotoko has ever had but they ended up being bundled out in CAFCC preliminary round by CARA Brazzaville. Kotoko won 1:0 home and lost 1:0 away before losing on penalty shoot out. They only managed to convert one penalty.
These occurrences brought bad blood between Pollack, fans and Kotoko management. Without needed support, Pollack won Ghana FA Cup and Presidential Cup before calling quit at the end of the season 2017-18.
