Ex Gor Mahia midfielder among four signed by Sofapaka

Image result for cersidy okeyo Gor MahiaKenyan Premier League giants, Sofapaka have confirmed the signing of four new players ahead of 2019/20 campaign that kicks off in under three weeks.

Sofapaka has lost nine key players and has now moved to replace the players who opted to ditch the club owing to its difficult financial position.

The players who quit the club are; Stephen Waruru, Dennis Odhiambo, Justin Ndikumana, Mousa Omar, Pistone Mutamba, Cliff Kasuti, Mike Oduor, Ibrahim Kajuba, Umaru Kasumba.

The team has now moved to replace the departees with new faces. Among the new faces is immediate former Gor Mahia midfielder Cersidy Okeyo Lumumba who was released by Gor at the end of the 2018/19 season.

Also in the team is immediate former Mt. Kenya United duo of Timmonah Wanyonyi and Brian Nyakan. Nyakan returns to the club that gave him his top-flight debut while Timonah, formerly with Tusker FC, Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will be hoping to settle at Batoto Ba Mungu as he has always been on the move for the past few years.

Completing the list is former Chemelil Sugar FC striker Philip Muchuma. The former Zoo, Muhoroni Youth and Vihiga United man has opted to ditch the Millers for a city sojourn.

“They are all good players with experience. As you know we lost a  number of key players and we have now decided to replace them with equally good players. The four are good players and I strongly believe that they will make us better. We will definitely sign more but we have to ensure that we get the right quality,” Sofapaka coach John Baraza told Opera News.
