Former Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney has stirred online debate by his desire to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s coaching staff after retirement.
The 33-year-old has been mulling over what to do after he hangs up his boot. And a source close to him has revealed that the former England captain is looking to the feature and wants to remain in the game.
The source also claims that Rooney’s wife Coleen Rooney has already stated that she wants to move to England from America where his husband is currently playing. Therefore, the D.C United player’s decision would placate his wife.
But are United fans ready to receive him? Fans have given mixed reactions regarding the move that might be a game-changer to the club.

He’d teach them how to hit the target on a regular basis. Who can forget that volley against Newcastle?

Rooney is a Legend @United. But I doubt Solskaer will let him join his team. Rooney openly supported Coach potchetino against Solskjaer when the job was vacant. I would love him to return to United again shall.

But, being employed previously under good mangers doesn’t make you a good manager. Look at Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Ole

As long as they don’t make him the fitness and lifestyle coach, he’d probably have a lot to offer.

Rooney is a record goal-scorer for both England and Manchester United and will join the legends Michael Carrick and Nick Butty when he makes his debut in United’s coaching team.
