Arsenal Captain Laurent Koscielny is on the verge of leaving the Emirates after the Gunners set a selling price. Koscielny has been at Arsenal for 9 years but is eager for a move away from the club and has been on strike trying to force his plans.
The French defender refused to travel with Unai Emery’s squad for their American Pre Season tour prompting the club to take a strong stand on him. Last week it was reported that Arsenal technical director Edu, met with Ligue 1 club Rennes to discuss a potential deal for the 33-year-old defender.

Should he leave, Arsenal’s ever-growing defensive problems will now hit crisis mode. Koscielny is undoubtedly Unai Emery’s best center back. His departure will mean that the Gunners will have to rely on the unreliable Shkodran Mustafi more next season.
Mustafi’s deficiencies were clearly illustrated in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Barcelona on Sunday. The defender had been on the pitch for only 3 minutes but was at fault for Luis Suarez’s winner in the last minute of the match.
Ball over the top, between Chambers and Mustafi. Chambers tried to get there. Mustafi had no idea where Suarez was.
Raul: buy a centre-half ASAP.
