Manchester City beat Liverpool on penalties to win the FA Community Shield for the second year in a row. The Cityzens raced on to an early lead through Raheem Sterling but Liverpool rallied in the second half to equalize through Cameroon center ack Nemanja Matip.
However, Liverpool should have won the match late in the second half when Mohammed Salah raced through on goal and chipped the ball over Manchester City’s Claudio Bravo. The ball seemed to be heading in but Manchester City defender Kyle Walker acrobatically saved Pep Guardiola’s team.

Liverpool hit the post twice and was clearly the better team in the second half. Despite the win, Pep Guardiola was left concerned after Germany winger Leroy Sane was forced off after what looked like a pretty serious injury…

The winger is subject to a move away from the Etihad with German giants Bayern Munich his long term suitors and possible destination.
